Job Summary:

Assembles a variety of merchandise for display and or sale to customers using common handtools


Duties and Responsibilities:

Assembles a variety of items such as bicycles strollers furniture grills lawn garden equipment etc. using common handtools following manufacturers instructions. Items are assembled both for display and for customers after purchase.


Inspects finished products prior to delivery to ensure proper working order and advises customers on proper use and maintenance of equipment.


  • Installs optional equipment purchased by customers.
  • Performs selling duties such as assisting customers in the selection of merchandise and bicycles and advises on optional equipment available for purchase.
  • Performs minor repairs such as clean equipment adjust brakes gears refinish minor scratches replacing worn or broken parts etc.
  • Maintains work area in a safe orderly manner.
  • May assist in backroom and stocking receiving functions as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Effort Stands walks bends and lifts light to medium weight bulkly objects. May use a handcart to move stock within to from the storage and selling locations. Assists customers in loading merchandise into vehicles. This position may be required to supply the tools necessary to perform the duties assigned

GENERAL EXPERIENCE Twelve months experience assembling items such as bicycles strollers furniture grills lawn garden equipment etc.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Stands walks bends and lifts light to medium weight bulky objects. May use a handcart to move stock. Assists customers in loading merchandise into vehicles.
