    Description

    Company Overview:

    This stealth mode company is pioneering novel small-molecule therapies that drive programmable,

    sequence-specific edits to the epigenome to treat diseases with broad impact. Our therapeutics

    platform is based on small molecule epigenome editors (Epitors) that are readily programmed to

    bind specific DNA sequences and recruit epigenetic regulators (e.g. histone acetyltransferase,

    DNA methyltransferase) locally to drive therapeutically-relevant epigenetic changes at defined

    sites via induced proximity. The platform can yield a suite of Epitors that either upregulate

    healthy genes/reactivate silenced genes (ON-Epitors) or silence disease-causing genes (OFF-

    Epitors). The small-molecule properties (broad biodistribution, scalability) and DNA sequence

    selectivity together make a powerful combination that has the potential to vastly expand the

    capability & utility of epigenome editing, which is currently limited by delivery issues

    encountered by existing gene therapy-based approaches. This unlocks epigenome editing as a

    therapeutic strategy for many conditions in oncology, immunology, metabolic diseases, and

    genetic diseases.

    Job Responsibilities:

     Support discovery and translation efforts, with a focus on building datasets,

    algorithms, computational pipelines and data storage and mining solutions for big data

    generated from our proprietary platforms along with public source data.

     Apply next-generation DNA and RNA sequencing and bioinformatics capability, and

    additional molecular approaches as appropriate, to provide enhanced understanding of

    on- and off-target events for epi / genetic editing approaches.

     Develop and / or implement computational tools for CRISPR on- and off-target editing.

    Work in collaboration with Biology and Chemistry teams to produce new tools and

    databases.

     Perform analysis of large-scale -omics datasets (e.g., RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq) and derive

    scientifically meaningful interpretations.

     Be available to others as a general bioinformatics resource at the company.

    Professional Experience/Qualifications:

     PhD in Computational/Informatics, Biostatistics or related discipline with a minimum of 5

    years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.

     Data science programming expertise using R, Python, etc., and experience with data

    processing, statistical analysis, and data visualization including in a cloud environment.

     Expertise in -omics research that includes knowledge that covers some subset of

    analytical domains, e.g., single cell, spatial, multiomics, gene expression, gene

    regulation, genomic assembly, genetic variation, and public data repository mining.

     Demonstrated record of developing computational pipelines to analyze DNA high-

    throughput sequencing data and usage of common bioinformatics tools.

     Excellent communication and presentation skills.

     Experience in data visualization.

     Team player with ability to work successfully across disciplines.

    Additional desirable experience:

     Experience in genetic screening library design.
