POSITION DETAILS

Since 1978, the Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College has provided a nurturing and fun setting where our talented, professional artist-teachers develop children's skills in music, theater and dance to their fullest potential.
Reporting to the Preparatory Center Director, The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support and will be responsible for the following
in-person:
Coordinating student registration, schedules and classes
Coordinating the timesheets of instructors
Daily room set up/break down and additional physical work on event days
Purchasing of office and event supplies
Creating, organizing and editing concert programs
This position will start at 20 hours with the listed benefits. Additional hours might be available in the future based on programmatic needs.
Must be available on:
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays
At least two additional days TBD
Prep Center's work hours:
Tuesday-Fridays: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor's degree or college-level credits if currently a student
Prior work experience in an office setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
Long-term availability
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and complex work environment
Excellent organizational, communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
Additional software experience is a plus
Classical music background is preferred
COMPENSATION
$20.00/hour
