Position Summary for Dispatcher

The Dispatcher strategically creates schedules and coordinates which route drivers go out to which job sites. The dispatcher keeps records and maintains logs for route drivers vehicles and equipment.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Maintaining responsibility for dispatching all of the company's drivers in a manner that maximizes efficiency and ensures customer satisfaction
Making outbound calls to customers and assessing their needs
Call customers to inform them of variances in delivery times
Dispatching drivers to customer's homes or businesses
Providing exceptional customer service to customers at all times
Verify equipment "readiness" with Transportation Shop
Possess very strong interpersonal skills and be able to discuss dispatch issues with drivers, customers and managers.
Performing office clerical work, such as filing and organizing
Working as a team player and contributing to the team accordingly
Set up daily load assignments for drivers.
Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Previous experience as dispatcher
General computer literacy
Must be a selfstarter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a talent for customer service
Must be efficient with strong attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks
Must have strong skills in organization and planning; demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and problem solving
Requires night and weekend work as needed.
Be able to work alone and in group setting
