PRIMARY:

To provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the Information Technology Development Operations team in order that they perform at the highest level and achieve the success that is needed in executing the credit union's business plan.

This position is also intended to perform essential activities that help ensure that corporate and strategic goals are met. Serves as a key advisor and project leadership to the Vice President of Information Technology.

  • Oversee all development areas, including but not limited to; PowerOn, Java, PowerShell, Python, PowerDocs, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Development Operations is in substantial compliance with regulatory and industry standards as well as CBC's written policies and procedures.
  • Supports the ongoing development, oversight, and continuous monitoring of the Information Security Program (ISP).
  • Serves as support for the ongoing development, oversight, and monitoring of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
  • Must remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, and competitive and technology environments, which may affect other credit union functions.
  • Fulfills reporting obligations associated with areas of oversight, in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to include internal executive reports, as well as those that may be requested by key stakeholders.
  • Ensures proper quality control processes are implemented and observed.
  • Review work systems to reduce duplication of effort and unnecessary work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required of an individual to satisfactorily perform the essential duties of this job.


  • Should have a working understanding of credit union loan and/or banking industry operations from a regulatory compliance, personnel administration and overall operations perspective.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to analyze financial reports and recommend appropriate plans of action to improve deficiencies.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills for effective personnel administration.
  • Should have an understanding of credit union and/or bank technology systems, Jack Henry Symitar, Q2, and other key and operational requirements and applicable compliance regulations.
  • Should have working knowledge of, and the ability to lead teams to comply with all financial industry securityoriented regulations.
  • Must have strong programming language skills and the ability to teach others those skills thought created development plans
  • Must demonstrate flexibility while engaging in the planning process and be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with members of the executive team.
  • Ability to carry out instructions independently and exhibit advanced problem‐solving and project management skills.
  • Must be able to understand difficult concepts as it relates to credit union and/or banking industry operations.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; as well as advanced mathematical disciplines such as algebra, calculus, statistics, and probability; that enable financial analysis such as effective management of resources, and risk and probability forecasting,
  • Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and delegate to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.
  • Ability to read and comprehend job related materials efficiently.
  • Ability to prepare written correspondence in a professional manner; including the ability to develop academically defensible business cases and white papers and multi‐media (i.e. Power Point or Keynote) summaries that propose new or modified strategies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of banking/credit union core systems, e.g. Jack Henry's Symitar. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology or business‐related field is required.

Must have five to eight years of proven credit union technology experience with at least three of those years directly relating to programming and retail support.

Must have two to five years of management experience leading teams in development and operational capacities. Knowledge of PowerOn, python, java, PowerShell, program lifecycle management, and automated code deployment required.
