The Family Assistance Department supports community members at risk of displacement through financial assistance, case management, and connections to resources.
The TAP Coordinator must be highly organized, and possess an ability to work flexibly and creatively, with a passion for our mission - to change lives and impact poverty.

The Transit Assistance Program (TAP) is a countywide program provided in partnership with Santa Clara
Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) and the County of Santa Clara Social Services Agency to help
low-income households obtain affordable transportation.
The Part Time TAP Coordinator supports SHCS' efforts to develop, administer, and evaluate TAP that provides subsidized monthly bus passes to low income households.
The TAP Coordinator is a member of the Family Assistance Team and participates in direct services and other team activities, as needed, and supports efforts to engage members in community organizing and policy advocacy initiatives related to housing and homelessness.

(80-90%)**Coordinates with multiple programs at Sacred Heart Community Service to maintain an active list of eligible TAP participants.
Supports the creation and maintenance of TAP documents, including policies and procedures and program forms.
Completes monthly reconciliation of TAP passes.
Conducts data entry into internal agency and VTA network databases.
Train and supervise volunteers and interns, and support the development of their organizational and community leadership.

(5-10%)**Works collaboratively to develop and implement efforts to ensure member involvement and leadership development within the Family Assistance department.
Identifies and engages members, including connecting people to organizing committees, conducting 1:1 conversations, and assessing and implementing community engagement opportunities with volunteers and people receiving housing assistance.
Participates in staff and team development activities, and engage in continuous learning, evaluation, and professional development.

CE**: Strong commitment to our vision of a community united to ensure every child and adult is free from poverty.
Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, or a related field or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver challenging messages with empathy and respect, and an interest in serving individuals from diverse backgrounds experiencing high-stress situations.
Ability to thrive in a flexible, compassionate, supportive fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to work independently with limited supervision when necessary.
Ability to work two weekend days on occasion especially during April, November, December.
The TAP Coordinator's standard working hours are Monday to Thursday in person at the agency's 1381 South First Street location.
Must complete a DMV and a background check and qualify to be insured under the Sacred
- Heart Community Service driving policy.
