Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an
Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in
Kennedy Space Center, Florida.


A successful manager in this role will have strong interpersonal and coaching skills that will further enable our business unit to achieve team and program goals while developing a work environment that promotes safety, quality, accountability, trust, and teamwork.

This role works closely with the operations team to optimize production facility, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This role will also ensure efficiency, quality, and productivity in the manufacturing processes, while also ensuring that our facilities are operating efficiently, meeting regulatory requirements, and providing a safe and productive working environment for our employees.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Oversees and manages manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborates with the operations team to develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
  • Manages and allocates resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets.
  • Leads and develops a highperforming team, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Implements and maintains quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities for process optimization, and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitors and manages facility budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures.

Operational Responsibilities:


  • Schedules and coordinates of janitorial services and direct management of janitorial and facility repair management personnel
  • Oversees supplier or vendor onsite service requirements, site coordination, scheduling, security coordination, and safety requirements.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive facilities management strategy to support manufacturing operations.
  • Oversees maintenance and repair of all manufacturing facilities, including equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manages and coordinates facility improvement projects, including renovations, expansions, and equipment installations.
  • Conducts regular inspections to identify potential issues and implements preventive maintenance measures.

This position is for 1st shift however, there could be exceptions for off hour surge events requiring alternate work schedule / hours.


This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • More than 3 years of experience in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
  • More than 5 years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams.
  • Experience in leadership leading teams in a crossfunctional environment.
  • Experience with Conflict Management and Conflict Resolution.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
  • Experience as a Facilities Manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Experience with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience using manufacturing and maintenance management software and systems.
  • Experience in problemsolving and decisionmaking.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.)
