What Is the Opportunity?

The Social Media Manager is an editorial lead for social media content development and is responsible for coordinating the annual editorial plan and content approval process.

What Will You Do?

  • Lead the social media editorial content process, including leading approval and proofing process for the Social Media Team.
  • Contribute to the creation of the organic social media strategy that supports business objectives across all platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Research social media trends, emerging platforms and new technologies.
  • Analyze metrics for effectiveness and produce reports for business partners on an asneeded basis.
  • Partner with the broader Communications Team to design, develop and drive social media content that positively positions the company in the marketplace and in the communities we serve.
  • Partner with the businesses and functions to engage and grow their social media audiences.
  • Use social media listening tools to monitor accounts for comments and mentions that could impact Travelers from a reputation standpoint. Engage with posts based on a set process established by the Social Media Team.
  • Support social media "boosting" and paid social media campaigns that support the business strategy.
  • Design and develop social media creative that supports the business strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in PR/communications, content marketing or social media. Can include internship experience.
  • General knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Moderate ability to manage social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to effectively collaborate and influence across all levels.
  • Basic analytical skills to assess data from a variety of sources and measure the success of a strategy.
  • Sound judgment, with an understanding of ethical and legal confidentiality requirements in handling sensitive information and situations.
  • Basic understanding of social media "boosting" and how to manage paid social media campaigns.
What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3 or more years of experience in PR/communications, content marketing or social media. Can include internship experience.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Experience using Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram for a business.
  • Experience writing and editing social media copy.
  • Ability to think creatively; in touch with the latest digital trends.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Basic analytical skills.
