About the Agency:
The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens.

About the Job:
This is a part-time position designed to work evenings and weekends.
This position will involve providing personalized instruction customized to each student's needs, as well as bridge achievement gaps, reinforcing and supplementing classroom learning, addressing specific academic areas of difficulty, and recovering from educational setbacks.
This position will serve on an hourly basis (on average 29 hours per week) not to exceed 1500 hours per wage calendar year (May 1- April 30).
This hourly role does not include agency-paid benefits. This role will require attending a 3-week training at the Virginia Public Safety Training Center located in Hanover, Virginia. The date of the training will be determined at a later time. Each day of training will start promptly at 8:00 am and will run until 5:00 pm.Minimum Qualifications
Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching Certificate/License with an endorsement(s) in Mathematics. Teacher is responsible for maintaining all documentation and requirements to renew Virginia Teaching License.
Additional Considerations
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. Prior experience teaching at-risk youth.
