The role of the Program Manager is key in a team dedicated to facilitating the smooth transition of all first-year students into Tulane University. This position involves overseeing communication, programming, and services aimed at fostering student success.
The Program Manager will play a crucial role by offering strategic direction and guidance in supervising, training, and developing the curriculum for the first-year seminar peer mentor program. This program consists of 125 upper-class mentors who assist students in acclimating to campus life during their initial semester.
Responsibilities of the manager include designing a comprehensive transition curriculum and training the mentors on its implementation. Additionally, this position will supervise the Newcomb-Tulane College Reading Project, which involves selecting a common read for all new students, coordinating the book selection committee, facilitating faculty training, managing programmatic aspects, and collaborating with the New Orleans Book Festival.
Furthermore, the Program Manager will provide guidance to the Residential Faculty, a team of 12 faculty members who engage and interact with students residing in first-year halls.
