    The salary range for this position is $47,000 -$52,000 annually. The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range also does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.

    Job Description:

    The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing and timely delivery of assigned payrolls. The Payroll Specialist uses an understanding of the company's payroll system to accurately pay employees in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) rules and regulations. The Payroll Specialist helps to ensure proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of withholdings such as taxes, deductions for benefits, retirement contributions, other savings, etc. The Payroll Specialist exercises independent judgment and discretion in planning and carrying out the details of work procedures and methods.

    • Process Weekly and Semi-Monthly payroll.
    • Verify and approve 401k deferral and loan feedback files.
    • Fund 401k Contribution and Loan files with Fidelity.
    • Prepare and process manual check requests as needed.
    • Research and respond to all payroll inquiries.
    • Research and process any retroactive payroll adjustments as needed.
    • Prepare and process Monthly Maintenance Mentor bonuses.
    • Prepare and process Monthly Service Award payments.
    • Prepare and process Employee Referral Bonuses.
    • Research and respond to all unemployment inquiries.
    • Process new hire, payroll change, and termination paperwork.
    • Process all wage garnishment orders.
    • Payroll special reporting (site budgets, payroll adjustment corrections, etc.).
    • Processing of bonuses semiannually for site employees.
    • Respond to employment verification requests as needed.
    • Process third party sick payment reconciliation at year-end.
    • Provide year-end payroll reports to auditors and respond to year-end payroll questions.
    • Complete IDA reporting and submit by deadlines provided.
    • Work with Paylocity on resolving tax notices when received.
    • Provide ad hoc payroll reporting when needed.
    • Assist with year-end reporting and data processing (increases, bonuses, allocations).
    • Update and approve employee records and changes on Paylocity as needed.
    • Provide administrative support for special projects.
    • Manage HR Payroll Inbox
    • Process monthly Paylocity invoice.
    • Other HR and payroll-related duties, projects as assigned.
    Education:

    Bachelor's degree a plus or some college with equivalent payroll processing experience will be considered.

    High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.

    Experience:
    • Minimum 2+ years of progressively responsible administrative experience in payroll processing is required.
    • Experience with Paylocity a plus, or other payroll systems processing needed.
    • Experience producing multi-state payrolls with in-house payroll systems is required.
    • Experience producing payrolls for an employer with at least 500 employees is preferred.
    • Must have advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
    • Strong math aptitude with accurate data entry/proofreading skills.
    • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills for assisting internal/external customers.
    • Bilingual Spanish-speaking a plus.
    • Ability to read and fully comprehend complex documents and legal guidelines, regulations.
