Description

The Department of Traffic Management is currently seeking an engineer (m/f/d) with expertise in planning traffic signal systems to join our team at Windermere.

Our department is dedicated to ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow on the streets and pathways of Cologne, for all modes of transportation, through innovative, connected, and intelligent solutions.


This position will be within the Planning, Construction, and Operation of Traffic Signal Systems department, specifically focusing on the planning of traffic signal systems.

Your Profile


We are looking for candidates who have successfully completed a degree (at least a Bachelor's or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Traffic Systems Engineering, or a related engineering field with a focus on transportation.

Alternatively, candidates with a degree in Geography may also be considered if they have a strong interest and knowledge in traffic engineering.

In addition, we value the following qualities in our candidates:

  • Experience in planning traffic signal systems and conducting traffic-related studies
  • Willingness to take on responsibility, organize tasks, and make decisions
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in relevant technical regulations and standards, as well as digital skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
  • Gender competence and a commitment to diversity

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Programming skills
  • Knowledge of Vissim, Sitraffic Office, VS-Plus, and Sitraffic TL software
