    Description

    Job Overview

    The main role of the Senior Financial Accountant is to assist the Accounting Manager in overseeing the financial accounting and reporting tasks for the company, including preparing US GAAP compliant financial statements, financial close activities, and other accounting duties. This position involves collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate understanding of accounting processes and controls related to AFEs, contracts, purchase orders, work orders, and work requests
    • Participate actively in month-end and year-end closing activities, reviewing and analyzing financial data to ensure compliance with US GAAP
    • Support interim and year-end audit processes, working with external audit firm on audit requests and controls
    • Provide financial insights to operational teams, analyze operational expenses, accruals, and stewardship reports
    • Assist in FERC regulatory accounting and reporting compliance
    • Lead capital expenditures and fixed asset accounting, monitoring depreciation and reporting requirements
    • Contribute to designing new systems, processes, and procedures for operational readiness
    • Support continuous improvement and operational excellence goals of the company
    • Participate in special projects as necessary

    Experience Required

    • Minimum 10 years of financial accounting and reporting experience in the O&G sector complying with US GAAP
    • Experience with leading ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4 HANA

    Skill Set Needed

    • Technical Competency - Ability to comprehend complex agreements and ensure accurate financial reflection in accordance with US GAAP
    • Leadership - Experience in leading teams and influencing accounting & finance strategies
    • Communication - Ability to convey complex accounting concepts clearly to various organizational levels
    • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

    Certifications Required

    CPA and/or MBA preferred
