    Position: Intake Specialist at The Salvation Army



    The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

    Job Objective:

    As the Intake Specialist, your main responsibility is to evaluate clients for suitable placement in SAHLC treatment programs. This involves completing various screening forms and developing treatment plans for clients. You will ensure that all necessary documentation is correctly filled out and that clients are transferred to appropriate staff members when needed. Additionally, you will liaise with external referral sources to fulfill clients' service requirements, all while upholding The Salvation Army's mission.




    What You Will Do:

    • Perform intake/admission procedures, which include gathering essential demographic and background details, completing assessments, and orienting clients to services and expectations.
    • Conduct assessments for Withdrawal Management clients promptly.
    • Enroll clients in funding programs and develop treatment plans.
    • Ensure client confidentiality and attend relevant meetings and training programs.
    • Maintain required certifications and input client information into the system.
    • Handle other assigned tasks from leadership.



    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: Master's Degree or Licensing Track (LMHC or LCAC), LCSW.
    • Background Checks: Required.
    • Experience: Two years of previous office experience.
    • Certifications: CADAC certification preferred.
    • Valid driver's license and completion of Safe From Harm training.
    • Skills/Abilities: Proficient in English communication, Microsoft products, and electronic reporting systems. Minimum 2 years of sobriety if in recovery.


    Physical Requirements Include:

    • Good speaking, hearing, and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity.
    • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like bending, squatting, and walking.
    • May stand for extended periods and occasionally travel.



    Working Conditions:

    • Typically in an office setting with occasional weekend and evening work.
    • All employees must respect The Salvation Army's religious mission.
