    Description

    Overview

    The IT Trainer reports to the IT Training Manager to deliver training on IT equipment and software to our end-users including new hires. The IT Trainers primary responsibilities are for training, testing, and driving adoption of end-user facing technology solutions at Milbank. The IT Trainer will develop quick reference cards and guides that empower legal teams to work efficiently and navigate tools effectively. They should also be able to develop effective training videos using Captivate or a similar tool. Additionally the IT Trainer serves as a bridge between legal teams and IT to identify problems and solutions involving the technology they need to be able to use. The IT Trainer will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging training sessions on a wide range of topics covering both hardware and legal applications. The IT Trainer will be the Subject Matter Expert on the core desktop technologies and understand how these technologies are used by different practice groups.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain all new hire training curriculum to align with changing technology needs
    • Ensure that all documentation is current to existing versions of core computer programs
    • Conduct individual and team skills gap analyses
    • Develop technical training courses for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced)
    • Coordinate product-related trainings, including presentations of new features and simulation activities in a demo environment
    • Ensure all new hires undergo basic technical training (e.g. on computer setup and security guidelines)
    • Liaise with industry experts and organize workshops and classroom-style trainings
    • Schedule in-house educational sessions using e-learning platforms
    • Work with Human Resources, Legal Personnel and other departments as needed to assess and schedule training needs for different departments and department heads
    • Develop curriculums and training techniques as required for mobile platforms, phone systems, and core computer programs
    • Develop and maintain curriculum for the Train the Trainer program
    • Assist in the overall management and maintenance of the LMS (create learning paths, course curriculum, etc.)
    • Maintain training records that include attendance, number of training sessions held and to be held for different team and departments
    • Work on the configuration and testing of new applications as required
    • Work closely with the Applications Tester to ensure that all critical components of new and existing applications are working as required by end-user needs
    • Must be able to travel to other Milbank offices, possibly internationally at times
    • Other responsibilities as they may be assigned from time to time

    Range: $90,000 to $120,000 (DOE)

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 4 years classroom-style training and curriculum design experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • A degree in Information Technology preferred but not required
    • Must have expert level knowledge in Microsoft Office with a concentration in Word and Outlook
    • Must have good general computer knowledge
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Must have strong interpersonal skills
    • Must possess a professional demeanor
    • Must be a quick-learner
    • Must possess patience and tact when addressing all levels of learners
