    Project Engineer
    Under general direction, prepare customer approval calculations, engineer specific written instruction and drafting procedures.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Prepare complete and precise calculations for steel bridge structures and components
    Utilize knowledge of construction and engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete calculation packages. Calculations may be developed in US Customary, Metric, or a combination of both
    Prepare bills of material from drawings created
    Review work product for completeness and accuracy
    Understand and adhere to all Acrow's policies and applicable laws
    Travel to other Acrow Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
    Perform other duties as required


    Skills and Knowledge:
    Strong work ethic with ability to adapt to quickly changing business environment
    Ability to write, analyze and interpret technical data inclusive of drawings, calculations, and specifications
    Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
    Ability to use AutoCAD LT or Mechanical CAD ver. 2018 or higher software
    Knowledge of AASHTO and AISC Codes
    Practical knowledge and application of engineering formulas in relation to the relevant codes in the design of structural steel members and connections
    Understanding of standard drafting terminology, abbreviations, symbols, dimensioning techniques, and procedures
    Ability to design steel components following relevant codes
    Able to work with a diverse group of people
    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

    Minimum Education and Experience:


    Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering and 4-6 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience.

    Preferred

    Skills and Knowledge:
    Design experience related to structural systems in bridges, steel buildings or industrial construction
    Autodesk AutoCAD or Inventor experience
    Engineering in Training Certificate or Professional Licensure in one of more States

    Working Conditions:
    Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
