Duties:


  • Serve as medical case analyst and voting member on Army Review Boards Agency boards on cases involving behavioral healthrelated issues.
  • Advise the Senior Medical Advisor on activities and functions pertaining to the evaluation of serviceconnected behavioral health issues and psychological health programs and projects.
  • Provide medical expertise primarily pertaining to behavioral health issues, case review and reassessments, and medical interpretations to the requesting boards and panels of the agency.
  • Continually research, prepare and present briefs and advisory opinions concerning all cases involving medical issues or related policy interpretation.
  • Routinely ensure the final assessment and individual final vote is fair and accurate and is conducted in consonance with all applicable guidance.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Incumbent must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
  • One year trial period may be required.

Qualifications:


_Position may be filled as time-limited appointment Term NTE 3 years. __This position is a TERM position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years._**
_Employees who accept time-limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be placed in a non-status appointment and will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended. There are no return/reemployment rights to the position vacated prior to accepting the time-limited appointment._

Basic Requirement for a Clinical Psychologist:

Degree:
Doctoral Degree (Ph.
D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

  • In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing case review to make appropriate board determinations; providing advisory services on Behavioral health issues; and providing verbal and/ or written medical advisory opinions in response to appellants' contentions.
    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
