Desired Results:


The mission of the Lamoille North Supervisory Union is to work in partnership with local communities to prepare our students to become lifelong learners and gain creative and critical thinking skills and knowledge in order to become productive contributing citizens.

The Director of Curriculum will support the LNSU Mission by working collaboratively with teachers, administrators and support staff to lead the development and implementation of a coherent PreK-12 Curriculum, ensuring success for all students in the system.

The Director of Curriculum will provide leadership and support in the development and implementation of shared learning goals, assessment for learning, instruction and professional development, and support for students who do not respond to first instruction.


Knowledge:

  • Understanding by Design at the systems level and the classroom level
  • PreK12 pedagogical content mastery in at least one core content area (mathematics, science, literacy, social studies)
  • Assessment (methods, use of feedback, data management)
  • Professional Learning Communities
  • Response to Intervention (RtI)
  • Principles of Adult Learning
  • Regional and State resources and networks
  • Common Core State Standards
  • Vermont's School Improvement system
  • 21st Century Technology (technology to support learning)
  • Vermont's Consolidated Federal Grants program
- facilitate and coordinate multiple working and professional development groups
- direct the development and implementation of content learning goals, assessments, and learning principles for instruction
- coordinate and provide needs based professional development
- communicate effectively
- foster teacher leadership and the professional development of lead teachers
- serve as a liaison among groups (school board, administrators, teacher leaders and working groups, external partners) to effectively direct the work of many toward a common vision.
- provide support for schools that have diverse needs for school improvement
- manage budgets and grants


Pay:
$75, $130,000.00 per year
