Position Summary:
_**
Base Salary Range: $100K -120K + AIP Bonus


Position covers locations in Northern California and Washington, preferred location is Sacramento, CA or San Jose, or San Fransicso CA, but can be located in most major cities in Northern California.


_ Primary Responsibilities_

  • Provide daily and continuous safety support to their designated region.
  • Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support AWP EHS Management.
  • Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to the field level, facility leadership level, and regional leadership to ensure a common and effective approach.
  • Maintain, audit, and update as needed AWP
  • SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the daytoday training.
  • Coach, train, guide, and mentor the regional employees through the AWP Safety Management System.
  • Review accidents/incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, reporting and managing the correction actions.
  • Participate in and support detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training.
  • Ability to work with employees and leadership to achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance.
  • Travel to branch locations and jobsites as required and perform any additional duties as needed.

_ Field Specific Responsibilities_

  • Visit and walk the jobsites on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly EHS Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
  • Perform field safety observations during each visit.
  • Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
  • Conduct critical behaviorbased safety observations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Business Unit EHS Director.
  • Oversight and Implementation of DaytoDay field operations.
  • Work with the branch leadership and field teams to ensure work practices are understood and followed.
  • Coordinate Business Unit, Region, Branch level safety activities.
  • Conduct EHS audits and assessments of ongoing operations to measure compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance to AWP company policies and procedures.
  • Plans, administers, and manages AWP safety policies, programs, procedures, and systems for assigned region.
  • Serves as the single point of contact for Region and Branch leadership in area of responsibility.
  • Ensures EHS policies, procedures, programs, and systems are trained and available to the employees.

_ Key Performance Indicator Metrics_
This position will be responsible to influence the following performance metrics:

  • EHS Management System Facility Action Plans
  • Region EHS

Training Compliance:
>95%

  • OSHA Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR):95%
  • Responsible Vehicle Accident Rate

Qualifications
**_
Education and Experience_**- 5-8 years of EHS work experience, experience in CA and working in field-based organizations in related industry strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS or any applicable field; Master's degree preferred; EHS certification a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully partnering with operations leadership in field including fostering a proactive safety culture, consistent and effective communication, training and development, investigations, and timely resolution and escalation of safety concerns
