Safety Program Director
Reporting to the Vice President of Safety Operations, the Safety Program Director provides strategic leadership and guidance to regional operations in implementing and improving safety programs across multiple locations.
This role involves utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and predictive analytics from vehicle telematics and driver monitoring tools to ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of
Safety Programs:
Directs and leads the implementation of safety practices such as driver selection, training, oversight, and security measures.
- Safety Performance Monitoring: Analyzes trends impacting vehicle crashes, workrelated injuries, and compliance with regulations like FMCSA, FTA, and OSHA.
- Crisis Response: Provides leadership and support during crises, including onsite response when necessary.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Establishes effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support improvement initiatives.
- Audits & Inspections: Conducts inspections, audits, and reporting with high accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with critical thinking skills.
- Experience in providing safety leadership across multiple locations.
- Competency in research methodologies and project management.
- Ability to provide direction and coaching to diverse staff.
- Understanding of safety policies and transportation best practices.
- Completion of relevant safety programs within 90 days of employment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% within the region and occasionally outside.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in commercial passenger transportation safety and training.
- Competency in research methodologies, project management, and contract administration.
- Success in supporting regulatory audits and investigations.
- Advanced knowledge of transportationrelated software and telematics.
Pay:
Up to $120,000.00 per year
