We are searching for a qualified and self-motivated Medication Clerk to join our PM Shift assisted living team.The ideal medication clerk will be extremely detail-oriented and possess in-depth knowledge of medication procedures.
Providing excellent care is a vital part of this job, which is why excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or nonprescription, to residents.
- Coordinate with staff, residents' healthcare providers and families to ensure residents' needs are met.
- Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications.
- Record medication dosages and times.
- Monitor residents and notify team of any changes in their condition.
- Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned.
- Uphold all health and safety standards.
- Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or relevant qualification.
- Previous experience as a medication clerk a plus.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.
Training is provided in the following areas:
- Infectious disease control policies
- Policies and procedures concerning resident care and of administering the procedures correctly
- Record keeping duties regarding residents that must be performed
- Inservice training workshops, seminars, and meetings
