BUSINESS TAXES COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST:Under general supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator I, the Business Taxes Compliance Specialist (BTCS) performs complex compliance and enforcement activities, including conducting licensing inspections, conducting administrative seizures, gaining compliance of unlicensed businesses and appearing in court proceedings for CDTFA tax programs including cigarette and tobacco, sales tax and cannabis. The BTCS also prepares appropriate inspection and seizure reports, conducts field observations, assists in identifying interrelated fraud schemes, and performs other related duties to ensure compliance with tax laws including the licensing and reporting requirements.This position may require travel overnight and throughout the state up to 50% of the time.BUSINESS TAXES REPRESENTATIVE:Under the close supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator I, the Business Taxes Representative (BTR) assists in performing compliance activities including conducting licensing inspections, assisting with administrative seizures of cigarette and tobacco products and cannabis products, and gaining compliance of unlicensed businesses. The BTR also prepares appropriate inspection documents and may contribute to seizure reports, conducts field observations, assists in identifying interrelated fraud schemes, and performs other related duties to ensure compliance with tax laws including the licensing and reporting requirements.This position may require travel overnight and throughout the state up to 50% of the time.Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.This recruitment has been posted for more vacancies than currently exist as it may be used to fill additional identical vacancies which occur within 180 days of the closing date of this bulletin.Working Conditions
