- Experience working in a lab or research setting, clean room and/or dry room experience is a plus
- Experience with handling chemicals is highly desirable (>1 gallon)
- Experienced with hand application of coatings and films onto a substrate
- Familiarity with pilot scale slurry mixing or slot die coating is a plus
- Experience in the battery field is a plus but not required
- Must be a hands-on and self-motivated individual
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and an exemplary team player
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently under clear instructions
- Ability to operate basic electric machinery and power tools (drills, bandsaw etc.)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and rest of Microsoft Office suite
- Must be able to lift 40lbs
- Set up, adjust, and maintain basic pilot equipment (mixers, reactors, probes)
- Perform powder production tasks on weekly basis (running wet chemistry reactions)
- Schedule and perform small format coatings using doctor blade several times per week
- Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures for mixing and coating
- Maintain mixing and coating space to an acceptable level of cleanliness and organization
- Assist scientists and other team members in R&D mix and coat activities
- Assist other team members in other aspects of the cell building process (cell building, small format coatings etc.)

Industry Background: Energy storage systems is a rapidly emerging field. Over the last few years, supply-chain constraints and significant safety incidents arising from lithium-ion batteries globally have resulted in a dramatic increase in costs and reduced confidence in the reliability of the technology.
