    Description

    Looking for a Perfumery Lab Technician to join a blossoming fragrance company

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    • Follows safety and compounding procedures outlined in the Lab Tech Manual.
    • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and procedures, understanding the risks of handling various chemicals.
    • Accurately measures ingredients using scales, records substitutions, over-pours, etc., with necessary supervisor approval.
    • Compounds complex formulations accurately and promptly to meet deadlines.
    • Prepares formulas for Perfumers and sample requests promptly.
    • Offers support to Perfumers upon request.
    • Assists with Lab supplies inventory and organizes warehouse stock adequately for 3 months' supply.
    • Provides inventory list for ordering, restocks supplies, and labels raw material containers from production.
    • Measures flash point for sample submissions.
    • Packs approved batches by labeling bottles for shipping.
    • Ensures equipment is in good working order and maintains cleanliness.
    • Refills bottles with oils following the Lab Tech Manual Procedure.
    • Completes end of day tasks including filing powders, repacking, and housekeeping.
    • Supports new employee training as directed.
    • Prints requested formulas for the Fragrance Design Department.
    • Organizes and prioritizes projects with sample coordinator and/or Application Lab.
    • Monitors compounding lab email and responds promptly when necessary.
    • Checks raw material stock availability as needed for production.
    • Gathers bottles from the library as required for new orders or QC investigations.
    • Records new orders by gathering bottles from the library or printing formulas if not in stock.
    • Performs other necessary duties.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or relevant field.
    • At least 1 year of experience, preferably in fragrance lab compounding.
    • Understanding of safe chemical handling and adherence to safety regulations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in computer literacy.
