As the
Superintendent, you are responsible for working closely with the Senior Superintendent and/or Project Manager as well as the Project Engineer on scheduling, permitting, procurement, document control and oversight.

You will supervise the field construction of a project and ensure all schedules and deadlines are met and to the quality of workmanship specified.

The Superintendent is responsible for protecting and promoting Burt Group interests in all matters, working closely with the Project Team to uphold the company's unmatched consistency in delivering successful projects that meet client's objectives with extraordinary levels of quality and customer service.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the daytoday construction operations and quality control over the work product to ensure schedule and budget maintenance, while adhering to the standard of workmanship that confirms to the construction documents and specifications.
  • Interface with clients, both as the Superintendent and Project Manager (if PM is not available).
  • Communicate accurate project schedule and tracking of subproduction information and specification requirements with the subcontractors and suppliers across all trades.
  • Document tracking, maintenance of accurate drawing logs, and comprehensive submittal registry, and the effective oversight of punch lists.
  • Management and maintenance of all field operations including material deliveries, health and safety measures, cleanliness and order of the work site, and quality of the work production.
  • Responsible for the timely quality control inspections and all official inspections.
  • Field operations material deliveries, health and safety, jobsite cleanliness, labor management, daily logs.
  • Responsible for running weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Maintain good relations and communications with all involved in the project, including the public, property owner, property manager, building engineer, client, neighboring tenants, and design team.
  • Attain a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the General Contract, each subcontract, the contract drawings, specifications, and addenda for assigned projects, and assist the Project Manager in the development of onsite procedures.
  • Examine contract drawings, specifications and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details, and possible code violations, and bring these to the attention of the Project Manager who will review them with the Architect. Retain organized and updated blueprints on site at all times.
  • Assist the Project Manager in the development and refinement of project schedules, work with the Project Manager to keep the schedule properly updated, and ensure the project meets the various required dates.
  • Plan and review the Construction Program with the Project Manager, including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, filed office locations and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, and manpower.
  • Oversee project startup including mobilization of all workrelated manpower, work hours, material, equipment, and property requirements.
  • Schedule and attend all preconstruction meetings, and all other required meetings throughout the life of the project.
  • Work with the Project Team to determine the need for and TBG labor and materials.
  • Work with the Project Manager to prepare the monthly requisition to the Owner, and see that they are promptly reviewed and approved by the Architects' field representative.
  • Track all time and material work performed on the project.
  • Coordinate, direct, monitor, and inspect the activities of the subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Create and manage detailed job schedule with all subcontractors and other constructionrelated personnel during the life of the project. Schedule and administer subcontractor meetings on a weekly basis throughout the project.
  • Ensure subcontractors adhere to the safety requirements by either attending their company safety training and submit proof of attendance, or attend our weekly on the job safety training. This includes organizing and facilitating those weekly safety meetings and daily job inspection to ensure safety. Inspect job daily to ensure safety.
  • Execute work in accordance with the contract documents and project schedules.

    Qualifications
  • 35 years of experience in commercial construction projects
  • Demonstrated track record of success as a Superintendent
  • Strong knowledge of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts
  • Must be able to read blueprints and understand project cost analysis
  • Excellent organization, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computers skills with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • OSHA training certification at the 30hour level required
