BronxWorks is hiring (1) Program Coordinator for Community Health Program


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and monitor quality assurance of program goals in compliance with agency and contract expectations.
  • Monitor program's contractual compliance and meet with contract manager during site visits.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute program activities that align within the program's scope of work.
  • Direct supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing monthly written feedback, meeting weekly with staff.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings and events.
  • Develop outreach strategies.
  • Monitor program costs and budget.
  • Track and assess enrollment and participation.
  • Attend contract and agency training sessions as provided.
  • Maintain relationships with collaborative partners and cultivate new ones.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings or more frequently as required.
  • Work closely with case manager and administrative assistant.
  • Ensure service needs are being addressed.
  • Act as a conduit with funding source.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee program activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
(education requirements and experience should be included in this section. You may include any preferred skills here as well)

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with health programming and/or community engagement required.
  • Saturday availability required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaker strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and interest in farmers markets, regional food systems, community and maternal health and community food security issues in NYC.
  • Places value on cultural awareness in a multiethnic community.
  • Dynamic personality and excellent oral and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Creative thinker to implement innovative program activities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills a must
  • Ability to manage multiple project and prioritize accordingly.
  • Knowledge, education, and experience in health education programs preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.
  • PROGRAM SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee program operation and activities of Saturday Family Wellness Program and Nutrition Education Outreach Program
  • Assist with program outreach at seasonal Farm stands
  • Training and supervising program staff and youth interns
  • Attend program training, follow curriculum, and ensure integrity and fidelity of programming
  • Ensure program targets are met
  • Manage program outreach efforts and build internal and external collaborations and partnerships
  • Complete funder progress reports with assistance from Program Director
  • Work closely with Case Manager, Administrative Assistant, Program Specialist, and Program Director
  • Support program evaluation efforts, track progress, maintain detailed documentation of program activities, and enter data into database
  • Maintain consistent communication with Program Director on program updates, progress, and staffing
  • Oversee program recruitment and hiring

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
