- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient status before, during, and after dialysis sessions.
- Perform dialysis procedures including cannulation, initiation, monitoring, and termination of treatments.
- Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, dialysis procedures, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff in the dialysis unit.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hemodialysis setting preferred.
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
