PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Omni1 shift requires a pharmacy technician with a strong background in diverse pharmaceutical tasks, attention to detail, follow policies/procedures, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment. They should also have strong communication and teamwork skills
1. Selects, labels appropriately, and processes all medication requests including requests for floor stock. Assures that all prepared medication requests are checked by a pharmacist before delivery. Delivers all medications promptly.
2. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, extemporaneously compounds preparations, completing all required documentation.
3. Using aseptic technique prepares has checked and delivers; IVPBs, large volume IV solutions, irrigation solutions, PNs adult, PNs neonatal, and cardioplegia solutions. Completes large volume parenteral and IVPB rounds.
4. Operates and documents all use of unit dose machine.
5. Fill prescriptions in a timely manner in accordance with State and Federal laws and regulations. Completes all associated paperwork, billing and charging. Operates cash register and credit card machine.
6. Generates and fills automated dispensing machine (Omnicell) re-stock lists.
7. Accurately prepares paperwork, selects correct product and completes all processes for dispensing of all Controlled Substances. Delivers finished product.
8. Receives, stocks/shelves accurately returned medications, orders from manufacturers, wholesaler and warehouse. Maintains stock replacement list for Inventory Control Specialist, replenishes stock as needed.
9. Answers telephone promptly, identifies self and job title, speaks clearly, takes/gives concise directions/messages.
10. Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces, etc) when appropriate.
11. Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in own job description for Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics.
12. Using proper technique, makes Neonatal/Pediatric syringes both injectable and oral.
13. Accurately fills "anesthesia bags", processes and completes all paper work.
14. Other duties as assigned. Assists when needed, takes initiative to seek outs what needs to be done. Assists in keeping the pharmacy neat.
15. Completes assigned monthly pharmacy check for outdates.
16. Accurately fill and delivers cassettes.
17. Makes specific rounds to pick up and deliver floor stock. Delivers medications promptly when requested by Registered Pharmacist.
18. Maintains all QC logs (temperature, hood cleaning).

20. HIPPA compliant.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Current California Pharmacy Technician License. Fluent in oral and written English.
