    Job Description:

    L3Harris is looking for a Senior Systems Engineering Specialist in Orlando, FL. As part of our System Requirements and Integration (R&I) engineering team, you will take charge of crucial systems engineering tasks to define and oversee design requirements. Your role involves ensuring that product designs meet all necessary operating standards across fabrication, testing, flight, and end-of-life environments. You'll employ a mix of commercial and in-house software tools, along with manual calculation techniques, to establish and cascade system requirements, align analysis models and test outcomes, assess design margins and lifespan, and produce technical documentation for program support. Moreover, you'll contribute to government technical meetings, progress reviews, and major program milestones.

    Essential Functions:

    • Obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
    • The formulation and distribution of system requirements
    • Conducting functional requirements analyses
    • Preparing documentation for design analyses
    • Developing and updating A/B/C level system specifications, interface control documents, hardware specifications, and verification/validation plans
    • Carry out requirements verification tasks

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior systems engineering experience. Alternatively, a Graduate Degree and at least 4 years of previous systems engineering experience. If no degree, then a minimum of 10 years of prior systems engineering experience.
    • Over 1 year of experience in program design reviews and trade studies
    • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and standards
    • More than 1 year of experience in systems engineering requirements and verification techniques

    Preferred Additional Qualifications:

    • Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences at all levels
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project)
    • Understanding of mechanical and electrical aerospace drawings, environmental testing requirements, and various aerospace analysis methods
    • Knowledge of IBM Rational DOORS requirements management tools
    • Prior exposure to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), or background in missiles, launch vehicles, and/or solid rocket motors
    • Active US government security clearance
