Description:

Markon is seeking an Architect and Interior Designer to support our Intelligence Customer.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform space and architectural surveys, collect user requirements, and interface with Government project managers, building maintenance contractors, general contractors, and/or other personnel
  • Assist with design reviews of Government projects
  • Develop highlevel cost for construction utilizing historical and research data
  • Prepare reports and other documentation, as necessary
  • Prior to design contract requests, gather and define customer's design requirements and prepare solutions ranging from conceptual design to final design within established parameters
  • Create design and construction documents, prepare project specifications, develop record control documents, and generate presentation graphics
  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates
  • Collect, prepare, and report programmatic information
  • Coordinate design activities with architecture, engineering, safety, security, construction, and other related functional areas. Ensure compliance with Building Codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
  • Manage and monitor architecture and engineering (A&E) firms for multiple projects during the design and construction phases and handling contract close out
  • Manage project design and/or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and daytoday project oversight
  • Manage and evaluate construction contractor performance
  • Integrate and coordinate projects with field personnel
  • Evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests
  • Provide official weekly project status reports
  • Prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders
  • Assist the client's Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution and administration
  • Assist the CO and COTR with conducting prebid and preconstruction site visits with the COTR
  • Provide invoice supporting information to the COTR for payment
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets; provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and constructionrelated issues; direct design efforts; recommend construction documents for approval; and provide oversight of any followon maintenance programs
  • Optimize performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements
  • Conduct design reviews with the customer
  • Ensure timely input of all data, comments, and documentation into MAXIMO software project management tool. This requirement applies to all projects, work orders, and tasks across the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure integration of all systems, including information technology, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing
  • Prepare Contractor Performance Report (CPR) upon contract closeout

Requirements:


  • 7 years of experience in architecture or interior design
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Maximo
