    Patient Services Specialist (Front Desk)

    Billing Cycle Manager

    Job Summary:
    Responsible for general patient support, scheduling of patients, accepting patient payments, preparing daily deposits reports, and data entry.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Answer and route incoming calls as appropriate. Take messages when necessary.
    • Greet incoming patients scheduled for appointments and walk-in and verify on each visit that the patient registration information is current. Update any change(s) and input information into the EHS.
    • Notify the nurse of any emergency walk-in patient to facilitate patient being triaged timely.
    • Schedule appointments in EHS patient management system (walk-ins, scheduled appointment, call-ins, etc.) according to protocol.
    • Scan patient ID into patient management system.
    • Screen patients for income eligibility and apply for health insurance when applicable.
    • Maintain daily sign in log.
    • Perform other job duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • High school graduate and at least one (1) year office experience in dealing with the public; pleasant telephone etiquette; ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients; must be computer literate.
