    Job Description Summary

BASIC
FUNCTION:


Provide video production predominately for the Rhode Island football and basketball programs, but to include all 19 intercollegiate athletics teams when applicable and assigned.

Collaborate with marketing and athletic communication departments to ensure a level of synergy while producing videos and graphics for social media, recruiting, content for athletics production and marketing (video boards, promotional/hype videos, team entrances, special events and commercials).


Duties and Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL
DUTIES
AND

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Help develop, implement, and manage the Athletic Department's digital brand, ensuring all digital elements have a consistent look and feel, from visual imagery to content tone and cadence.


  • Coordinate, design, implement and execute photo shoots for all sports.
  • Support the marketing, ticket sales and fan engagement strategies for the football and basketball programs through concept, design, and production of traditional, digital, and video graphic materials.
  • Utilize official social media outlets to engage fans by delivering entertaining and informative content.
  • Manage the athletic departments' content sharing partnerships.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee a group of video/photography interns.
  • Cultivate relationships with campus partners including the Harrington School of Communication and Media and College of Arts and Sciences.

EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers, printers and word processing; telephones, copy machines, fax machines. Video equipment. DSLR and cinema-style cameras. Adobe Creative Suite.
Required Qualifications

REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2. Minimum of one year of professional graphic design and video production experience.
  • 3. Demonstrated experience both shooting and editing content for various platforms.
  • 4. Demonstrated knowledge of sports promotional/hype videos and commercials.
  • 5. Demonstrated knowledge of nonlinear editing (i.e., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
  • 6. Demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • 7. Demonstrated design skills.
  • 8. Demonstrated experience with DSLR and cinemastyle cameras.
  • 9. Demonstrated understanding of digital and social media marketing tools and best practices.
  • 10. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with athletic department staff (i.e., administrators, coaches, studentathletes; etc.)
  • 11. Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • 12. Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on game/practice schedules and special events (i.e., postseason, weekends, evenings, etc.)
  • 13. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • 14. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
  • 15. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
    Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED:


  • Bachelor's degree in video production, graphic design, communications, marketing, sports management or related field.
  • 2. Demonstrated experience in graphic design for collegiate athletics and/or professional team.
  • 3. Demonstrated experience managing and training student workers.
