QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN III to join our rapidly growing quality assurance team

What are general responsibilities of a
QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN III at Poly Labs?

The
Quality Control Technician III will be responsible for performing work in process (WIP) and part incoming quality control (QC) inspections.

This position works closely with other members of our quality team, and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Typical hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm, with opportunities for overtime when available.


QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN III

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews, files, and maintains process and product quality records; follows good documentation practice (GDP).
• Performs characteristic and visual inspections on work in process product to determine if within specification.
• Creates Bubble Drawings and inspection plans for incoming inspection and performs the inspection.
• Performs all QC WIP Rounds testing and Incoming Inspection using gages, fixtures or supporting equipment.
• Performs CD Test buddy checks, prepares shipping data and Certificates of Conformance (CoC)
• Makes pass/fail quality decisions based on specifications, procedures, and standards.
• Communicates inspection results to machine operators and supervision so that process adjustments can be made.
• Performs Instron final product and VN 740 CD hardness testing and any other metrology related testing.
• Conducts spectrophotometer color testing.
• Trains others on QC activities, fills in for Production as needed.
• Ensures that product standards are available to machine operators; explains the standards to operators.
• Quarantines nonconforming product and material; implements out of control action plans (OCAP).
• Initiates Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), updates NCR log; Supports Material Review Board meetings.
• Supports and promotes continuous improvement initiatives to meet business objectives.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

QUALITY CONTORL TECHNICIAN III

TRAINING, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated ability to manage records, document controls, and change controls.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment, Quality Inspection Certificate a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• 23 years of related experience; experience in manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) methods a plus.
• Familiar with visual inspection with or without a microscope or other magnification devices.
• Experience working in a product development environment a plus.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel; EPDM, ERP
• Internal auditing experience a plus.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or certificate.


Supervisory Responsibility:

No supervisory responsibility.

This job operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment.


Physical Surrounding:

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier/scanner and filing cabinets.


Physical Effort:

While performing duties of the job, employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use eyesight to inspect products with or without magnification.

Travel:

Infrequent travel may be required.
