At Rollingwood, TX, our goal is to prevent vision loss and ultimately blindness by developing AI software that assists eye doctors in therapy planning for their patients.

We use computer vision deep learning models trained on thousands of cases and millions of images to identify and predict disease progression.

Our decision support algorithm focuses on popular eye diseases such as Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which affects 7.5 million people in Germany alone.


Responsibilities:
As the Director of Data & AI, you will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing your expertise in AI to oversee and participate in the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, algorithms, and data pipelines. You will also stay updated on AI trends such as federated learning and transformers.
  • Building and mentoring a highperforming team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and data engineers. You will foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration within the AI team.
  • Expanding our network of clinical and pharmaceutical partners to increase the diversity of our worldleading longitudinal OCT and clinical dataset.
  • Enhancing and implementing a comprehensive data and AI strategy that aligns with the company's business goals.
  • Establishing guidelines and frameworks for minimizing bias, ensuring data privacy and security, and meeting regulatory requirements (MDR, FDA).

Requirements:

We are looking for someone with:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in AI model development, data engineering, image processing, and/or data science, preferably with a focus on medical computer vision.
