    REPORTS/RELATIONSHIPS:


    The Assistant Plant General Manager reports to the Plant General Manager and is tasked with overseeing harvest and production operations at one of Kalera's sophisticated controlled agriculture growing facilities.


    Summary:


    The Assistant Plant Manager directs all daily harvest and production activities at the plant while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

    They establish and conform to processes that will optimize stewardship, safety, quality, and efficiency. The position entails showcasing leadership that mirrors Kalera's ethos and principles.


    Essential Responsibilities:


    • In charge of daily oversight of harvest and production operations
    • Supervise harvest and production team efficiency and throughput yield
    • Assure the facility is operative and generating goods that adhere to food safety and quality benchmarks
    • Uphold stringent Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation, and Safety Standards
    • Guarantee compliance of harvest and production teams with all regulations concerning food safety, worker safety, food processing, and employment statutes
    • Manage the training and ongoing enhancement of all harvest and production teams
    • Devise and execute equipment, production, and labor objectives
    • Create a succession plan to ensure operational continuity in the event of unforeseen turnover
    • Other duties as delegated

    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or training
    • 5+ years of experience leading high-performance teams
    • Demonstrated proficiency as a manager of personnel and processes
    • Proven capability to work, manage, and meet conflicting deadlines in a dynamic, high-volume setting and on time; knack for problem-solving and decision-making required
    • Demonstrated ability to discern, suggest, and implement optimal methodologies that offer swift, consistent, high-quality service
    • Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint, Word
    • Experience with PowerBI and/or MS Dynamics is advantageous
    • Must be adaptable and open to working within the demands of a year-round operation which may require evenings, weekends, and holidays.
