FOR PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR

Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Manager and the direct guidance of the coordinator, operates the Press Brake Center.

Interprets engineering drawings, ensure layouts will result in the desired sheet metal component. Works with engineering and manufacturing management to ensure the functionality of the fabricated parts on the Brake. Loads and unloads parts from Press Brake.

Assembles components, assembles machines and sub assemblies, and performs a variety of hand and machine-assisted function necessary to fabricate sheet metal parts and assemble industrial bakery systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Interprets engineering sheet metal designs, drawings and bills of materials to ensure that the flat layout will yield the desired sheet metal component or assembly, fit with the mating parts and function properly within the machine.
• Optimizes material usage by limiting waste in pattern layouts of metal. When necessary, builds fixtures to facilitate assembly sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Maintains quality by inspecting parts during the press brake operation using measuring devices and gauges to ensure manufacturing consistency to required specifications.
• Use hand and power tools to deburr, align, tighten and/or adjust machine parts.
• Cleans equipment and work area as necessary.
• Completes and maintains required production and quality control records and logs in accordance with Company production standards.
• Provides feedback to coworkers, supervisor, and Company management on a regular basis to ensure efficient and effective assembly operations.
• Participates and adheres to Company policies and programs on occupational health and safety, and operating procedures.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

• Press brake machine: 2 years (preferred)
• Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)
