- Manage a diverse manufacturing team of including Production Supervisor, Lead Operators, and Operators to meet business objectives
- Create a culture of accountable performance through collaboration in a fun and safe environment
- Improve/sustain the performance of employees through effective use of coaching, mentoring, feedback, delegation, succession planning, team building and a performance management program
- Coach and mentor supervisors and managers to help them become more effective leaders and create development plans for all high potential employees.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to drive continuous improvement in production cost, quality, delivery and safety
- Monitor performance metrics and take corrective/proactive actions in order to meet or exceed targets
- Staff team appropriately to ensure current/future production requirements, using full time and variable workforces
- Communicate important information and regular updates to team
- Implementing corrective action on Non-Conformance Reports
- Accident investigation and reporting
- Manage manufacturing processes and equipment
- Review and approve NCR reports to ensure effective action is taken to mitigate future non conformances.
- Review and approve invoicing for the facility and ensure prudent spending control.
- Review and approve Velocity CA's and follow up on time line for completion to ensure an effective safety response culture is maintained.
- Review and approve Concur expense reports for required employees.
- Review and approval of SOP and HAA relating to production systems and procedures.
- Cooperate with their employer for the purposes of protecting the health and safety of themselves as well as other workers either engaged or at the work site where the work is being carried out.
- The health and safety of workers and others at the work site
- That the workers are aware of their health and safety responsibilities and duties.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing
- University degree or post-secondary diploma is an asset however experience is valued above education.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and conflict management.
- Must have excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
- Proven leadership skills and strong process knowledge
- Ability to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment.
- Ability to create a network of contacts with cross functional teams.
- Good computer application skills

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will be responsible for leading and directing a diverse production team in our core manufacturing facility.
The Production Manager will assume the overall responsibility of managing supervisors, leads and staff to achieve production volume, scheduling, and quality standards, customer requirements, and budgets.
This position is highly visible within Composite Production Systems which will require proven leadership skills, with the ability to drive tangible results through the development of people in the areas of; accountable, collaboration, and safety while promoting a positive and engaging environment.
