Meridian HealthCare is looking to hire a full-time Food Service Worker to work at our South Campus in Youngstown.

Since 1974, Meridian's mission has been to eliminate addiction by working with individuals and their families through recognition, prevention, consultation, healthcare, communication, support, and treatment, utilizing a person-centered approach that respects the dignity of every individual.

In addition to offering a comprehensive approach to addiction (that includes prevention, treatment, recovery support, housing, criminal justice services and much more), we are also a trusted source for primary care, mental health services, chiropractic care and acupuncture.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

Prepares a well-balanced and healthy menu each day.
Follows all requests for special diets in order to assure good patient health.
Maintains the kitchen area and supplies in a clean, safe and sanitary manner, upholding the standards of all federal, state and local licensure/regulations.
Ensures that appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, etc.) are in operable condition.
Places work orders on all appliances as needed.
Maintains inventory and submits food/beverage orders to supervisor on a weekly basis.
Receives menus and orders food for other programs.
Maintains weekly/monthly food menu according to state/agency standards.
Develops programming to improve life skills of clients (cooking programs).

SCHEDULE FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

This position is working a 4 day work week Hours are 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

Must be able to read and write; follow written and verbal instructions
Measure and adapt recipes
Operate a microwave, stove top and oven
Maintain good personal hygiene and kitchen.
