Overview:


  • Responsible for the training activities within the Maintenance Department to ensure the staff have the familiarity and skills to maintain required safety, quality and productivity specifications of existing and new equipment and automation. Role will also assist with major repairs/rebuilds of production equipment and troubleshooting work on the floor as needed.

Responsibilities:


  • Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Lead training programs for Maintenance Department including:
  • Develop Curriculum, Training Materials and Media needed for Maintenance training
  • Develop and assist in maintaining staff Skill Assessment and training matrix
  • Collaborate with and utilize training support from other internal training SME's
  • Coordinate and assist with required SOP & safety training
  • Assist with the coordination, training and administration of the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program
  • Serve as a resource in major production/equipment troubleshooting, when needed
  • Utilize major troubleshooting projects as training opportunities to increase departmental skills
  • Lead Major Equipment Rebuilds, including scheduling of activities and ordering associated parts
  • Work with Production and Scheduling to coordinate timely Setups, Major Repairs and PM's
  • Represent Maintenance Department and assist with new equipment and automation selection, as needed.
  • Create equipment BOMs, PM's and assemblies for new equipment, when needed.
  • Lead the "tech transfer" activities when new equipment is purchased to ensure lessons and information are shared within Maintenance and Engineering and Operations as needed.
  • Support other maintenance and troubleshooting activities on the floor when needed.
  • Attend required meetings and or training as required
  • Adherence to all Company policies and procedures
  • Elevates complaints and problems to Maintenance Supervisor
  • Ensures proper PPE's and Safety procedures are followed and that work is performed safely and without injury
  • Flexibly works other shifts and weekends, shifts maybe 8, 10 or 12 hours as needed

Qualifications:


  • Knowledge and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree or equivalent combination preferred
  • 35 years of Maintenance Tech or skilled trade experience required; experience in a manufacturing/packaging or similar GDP/GMP environment strongly preferred
  • 13 years of Training experience required
  • Experience working with various levels of employees with different educational backgrounds, work style habits, and employment histories preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machine repairs, pneumatics, hydraulics and electricity required.
  • Able to read technical documents required.
  • The ability to work independently without supervision required
  • Ability to organize priorities and workload required
  • Computer/Communication Skills:
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook, preferred
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) related software, preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written English instruction and specifications, required
  • Ability to speak, read and write English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, and customers: to include reading and writing skills to understand and complete necessary customer paperwork, required
  • Ability to speak or comprehend additional languages (Spanish) is a plus
