This is an Anticipated VacancyThis position is located at Neuse Correctional Institution in Goldsboro, North Carolina. This is a medium custody male facility.
This position will be responsible for providing accurate accounts payable and disbursement processing services for General Accounting and Trust Fund.
This position will process payments for direct and/or matching invoices to vendors, verify payments, maintain payment files, consult with vendors and staff regarding accounts, reconcile payment data and troubleshoot problems with payments and accounts.
This position will be responsible for the maintenance, oversight, and reporting of financial accounting data and specializes in Trust Fund accounting and canteen reporting.
This position will be required to perform other accounting duties, including, but not limited to:Purchasing and Payables. Must be able to analyze data for accuracy, to problem solve, and to interpret policies and procedures.
This position will ensure uniform accounting procedures are followed in processing inmate banking processes, requisitions, warehouse and contract vendor purchases and payables.
This position is the back-up for the Institutional Accounting Clerk. Must be able to effectively communicate with management, staff, offenders, other state agencies and members of the general public in both verbal and written form by utilizing existing communication systems; ability to accurately operate various office machines (computers, calculators, fax machines and copy machines. Must be able to work independently with little or no instruction.
