Since 1993, SEPA Mujer has provided safe spaces for empowerment, leadership development, civic engagement, and legal assistance as the only Latina Rights Organization dedicated to social change, women's rights, immigrant rights, and other issues by way of unique training, workshops, monthly meetings, presentations, tabling, press work, and action-oriented engagement.


Job Summary:
The Migrant Relocation Program Coordinator oversees and manages the relocation and integration of migrant families into Long Island.

This position involves coordinating various aspects of the relocation process, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth transition and integration of the migrant families.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the program planning and development to address the specific needs and challenges faced by the migrant families.

This involves identifying objectives, creating implementation plans, and establishing program guidelines. She/he will coordinate with government agencies, non-profit organizations, community groups, and other stakeholders involved in the migration process.

The Program Coordinator will monitor the program and ensure its compliance with the MRAP requirements and is meeting its deliverables as mandated by the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance.

The Program Coordinator will offer guidance ( supervise ) to the team and provide cultural orientation and support. This position will be the contact point for the NYC shelter program. The Program Coordinator will support the MRAP Team in all aspects of the program.

The Program Coordinator will provide know-your-rights education that is linguistically and culturally appropriate to the families and empower them to be self-sufficient.

This full-time position will oversee and collaborate with the Case Managers, administrative assistant, Housing Specialist, Director of Legal Services, and Executive Director as needed.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate relocation and integration processes for migrant families into Long Island.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including government agencies, nonprofits, and community groups.
  • Plan and develop programs tailored to the specific needs of migrant families.
  • Establish program objectives, implementation plans, and guidelines.
  • Monitor program performance and ensure compliance with requirements and deliverables.
  • Oversee and collaborate with Case Managers, administrative staff, and Housing Specialist.
  • Provide guidance and cultural orientation to the team.
  • Serve as the contact point for the NYC shelter program.
  • Develop and conduct linguistic and culturally appropriate knowyourrights education to families.
  • Monitor the direct clients (families') budgets, track expenses, and ensure adherence to financial guidelines in coordination with the project administration coordinator and under the supervision of the Fiscal Director.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges to program success and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Regularly track and report on program progress, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (human services, social work, organizational leadership) or proven experience in program coordination, project management, or related roles.
  • Experience overseeing a team while also being a team player.
  • Experience working with immigrant communities and/or underserved communities.
  • Experience with volunteer recruitment and retention.
  • Knowledge of Suffolk County.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, and risk assessment.
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Sensitivity, empathy, and cultural understanding to serve the community effectively.

Pay:
$62, $68,000.00 per year
