Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team.

As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement for services rendered.

This is a crucial role in our healthcare organization, as it directly impacts our revenue cycle and financial stability.


Responsibilities:


  • Review and verify patient information, medical records, and insurance details
  • Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD9, ICD10) to diagnoses and procedures
  • Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations
  • Collaborate with the billing team to resolve any coding or billing issues
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare laws

Experience:


  • Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
  • Proficient in medical coding systems (ICD9, ICD10)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
  • Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • QMS knowledge a plus
