    Description

    Senior Accountant

    We are searching for a Senior Accountant to contribute their expertise to a prominent financial institution located in Tampa's downtown core. As Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in assisting with key financial operations and ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, accounts receivable/payable, and bank reconciliations
    • Take ownership of month-end and year-end financial close procedures
    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
    • Conduct internal audits to identify and address any discrepancies or issues
    • Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing valuable insights and analysis
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff
    • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices

    Qualifications:

    • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
    • 2-4 years or more of accounting experience (exp. in a public company a plus)
    • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Self-motivated, assertive, and ability to follow directions
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
