Purpose

The Finance Manager will execute accounting/finance related functions for Advanced Refractories North America business including reporting, analytics, and other financial support of varying complexity through to the financial statement preparation. Complete various other financial requirements for the AR North America business.

Dimensions of the Position:

• Support the North America Director of Finance by providing facilitating month end close process with shared services, data, reporting, and analytics to help manage the business. Develop any necessary reports in Cognos/BI/JDE to improve business analytics/KPI measurements.
• Focus on utilizing tools to streamline & automate reporting and information sharing
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and reporting for North America and necessary bridges/analytics required by Corporate office/Business Unit management.
• Conduct consolidated budgeting and forecasting for business units (AOP, Strategic Plan, short term forecasts, etc).
• Conduct commercial analysis; customers, segments, mix, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements/business management KPI reporting for Advanced North America. Including P&L & B/S, including focus on Sales, Gross Margin performance, A/R, Inventory, etc.
• Coordinate/support annual budget process for North America business units. This includes both the income statement and balance sheet by business unit.
• Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans. Focus on utilizing tools to automate and improve reporting processes.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and presentations as required for North America Finance Director, North America RVP and functional business managers for Advanced Refractories. This includes monthly sales flash forecasts and actuals and other reports and inquiries as required.
• Prepare forecast of sales and Trading Profit as required by BU's and local management throughout the year.
• Work with business management team to complete the month end close for USA production sites including journal entry preparation/review/approval, balance sheet reconciliation review, accrual calculations, gross margin review, exchange review and SOX compliance.
• Prepare commercial analysis: with views on customers, segments, mix, etc. Work with pricing analyst to maximize margin opportunities.
• Support both internal/external audits for Vesuvius USA. This includes preparing required working papers and reconciliations.
• Coordinate internal audits for USA as required including preparing of SOX documentation and supplying analysis as required to complete audit.
• Prepare adhoc analysis as required by North America Finance Director such as obsolete inventory, bad debt, margins by product line and payroll. Completing reports and other inquires by gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data.
• Analyze capital investment projects and manage CapEx budget.
• Drive improvement of financial KPIs such as DSO, inventory days, invoice turn over, aged inventory.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or business required.
• CMA or CPA preferred
• 5 – 10 years accounting/finance experience in a corporate accounting environment with an integrated ERP system which should include 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a standard cost environment.
• JD Edwards experience a plus
• Knowledge of Accounting Principles and IFRS along with knowledge of cost accounting.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, education and location. Domestic relocation is available within the U.S.
