Role Summary/Purpose:


The AVP, FP&A Technology is responsible for partnering with Technology Senior Leadership on financial planning, forecasting and reporting for Technology Sub-Functions as assigned.

This role will play an integral part in driving cost discipline while also finding ways to optimize spend through productivity without compromising essential needs.

In addition, the role will lead the build out of processes and reporting around numerous new IT initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Execute FP&A processes (annual OP Plan, pacing estimation, and close duties) for assigned sub functions.
  • Partner with senior leaders & staff to drive financial decision making and monitor expenses for areas of direct responsibility.
  • Management & oversight of Synchrony's cloud usage forecasting and showback process. Work with FinOps team to collaborate with user groups to analyze cloud spend and usage as well as develop accurate bottoms up forecasts at a detailed workload level.
  • Partner with Technology Finance lead to support Synchrony's Strategic Plan by working directly with crossfunctional Program teams across the business.
  • Partner with supplier management & sourcing to provide financial modeling support and identify productivity opportunities within the Technology Operating Plan.
  • Provide financial analysis and summaries, including identification of key drivers of the results, and areas of opportunity and risks in the respective functions.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field or in lieu of degree, 8 years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years financial analysis or accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' Hyperion financial systems experience.

  • Proven leadership abilities, influencing skills, and the ability to lead/engage on crossfunctional projects.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.

Grade/Level: 11
***The salary range for this position is
90, ,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.


Eligibility Requirements:


  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 47) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future nonexempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
