Job descriptionWe are currently looking for an experienced Full Time Medical Assistant for our practice. Must have availability Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM.
Core Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Open and prepare rooms for clinic
- Prepare for patients per daily schedule.
- Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures, including wound care and surgery followup visits
- Prepare patients for exams: medical history, vitals, meaningful use, med and allergy changes and document in electronic medical record
- Radiology authorizations and orders; order tracking
- Call and /or submit prescription requests to pharmacy
- Collect lab specimens and route to appropriate lab.
- Schedule medical tests, order labs and surgery clearance
- Clean/Sterilize instruments
Flex and Back-Up Responsibilities:
- Surgery scheduling
- Available to fill in/help out in other offices if needed
- Answer phones when needed.
- Enter patient history on new patients.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR Certification
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably minimum one year
- Thorough understanding of medical terminology
- Ability to work with clinical staff
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior patient interaction skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Pay:
$ $21.00 per hour
