- Meets all requirements of a Thorne Ambulance Service Paramedic
- 5+ years of paramedic experience with progressive career advancement (preferred)
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- AHA/ASHI Instructor (preferred)
- Self-Starter & Empathetic Leader
- Provides leadership oversight to a team of mobile medical providers
- Response, treatment, and transportation of patients in accordance with organizational policy, industry standards, and the provider's scope of practice
- Compassionate care delivered with clinical excellence, and with customer service in mind.
- Project a professional image through positive community interactions, adherence to uniform standards, and through positive body language.
- Timely completion of patient care reports and submission by end of shift, and the assurance that all team members submit reports by the close of shift.
- Review of patient care reports for quality assurance/improvement opportunities, along with the Clinical Manager
- Communicate compliments and investigate concerns received
- Mentoring and coaching as necessary
- Attend meetings as requested by organizational leadershi
- Maintain all apparatus in DHEC compliance and participate in random and annual DHEC inspections, when requested.
- Completion of daily unit check sheets and assurance that equipment is on-board and in working order/of required quantities
- Maintenance of quarters and units in accordance with organizational policy, submitting repair/maintenance requisitions as necessary
- Collaboration with other public safety and allied health professionals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or move 150lbs independently (300lbs with a partner) while demonstrating safe maneuvers and patient lifting competency.
- Be able and willing to be seated, standing, walking, etc. for long periods of time
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures based on environmental conditions.
- Ability to successfully mitigate stressful situations with co-workers, other healthcare providers, patients, and the public.
- Flexibility to respond to emergency requests during assigned shift.

Job DescriptionSalary: $30/hourSummary
The Paramedic Crew Chief is responsible for overseeing all units on their assigned shift, while building and fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. As a Crew Chief, you will work with a multi-generational workforce of varying skill and capability in the provision of inter-facility care within a Level I trauma health system. Additionally, the Crew Chief will respond to requests for service in their assigned unit, as requested by Thorne's Communications Center, and in accordance with organizational policy. The Crew Chief is responsible for assisting in building and maintaining a positive workplace culture, effectively leading teams, and mentoring/coaching team members. The Crew Chief will regularly work with members of the public safety and healthcare community.
