The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany.

Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to become even better with us.

We are currently seeking candidates for a 3.5-year apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician for Operating Technology (m/f/d) at DB Cargo AG in Cologne.

The vocational school is also located in Cologne.

What to expect in your apprenticeship:

  • You will become familiar with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of various systems.
  • You will learn how to analyze and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • You will gain knowledge of measurement, testing, and diagnostic procedures, as well as how to document them accurately.
The DB is a large company and we are looking for electronics technicians in many different areas.

Depending on your interests and the availability of apprenticeship positions, you can complete your training as an electronics technician on our trains, on our rails and power lines, at our train stations, or in our workshops where the normal power grid is converted into the railway's power grid.

What to expect in your apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician in the workshop:

  • You will work to ensure that our trains are always ready for use.
  • Your tasks will include the maintenance and repair of electronic components in our trains, such as information displays, doors, and monitoring systems.
