The Material Handler Role in Warehouse Operations

The Material Handler plays a vital role in efficiently processing packages to fulfill orders at the warehouse. The key responsibilities include operating warehouse equipment safely and effectively to meet daily targets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure accurate and timely picking and packing of orders with meticulous attention to detail
Optimize packaging to reduce shipping costs while maintaining product quality and ensuring safe delivery
Process and ship orders using warehouse systems
Load finished shipments onto trailers after palletizing them
Maintain and operate warehouse equipment safely, following all safety protocols and Company policies
Achieve or surpass department productivity and accuracy standards
Keep work areas clean by removing empty boxes from bins or aisles as necessary
Receive, stock, and unload inventory efficiently to support order fulfillment
Proactively communicate with the Manager to address operational issues promptly
Perform any other assigned duties as required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Capacity to adapt quickly to changing business needs and manage challenging situations with tact and emotional intelligence

Language Skills

Proficiency in English for business purposes

Physical Demands

The role involves physical requirements that must be fulfilled to perform the job effectively.

Work includes standing and/or walking up to 10 hours per day, effective communication through speech, vision, and hearing, manual dexterity for grasping and fine movements, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting/carrying objects up to 75lbs.

Work Environment

The work environment features exposure to machinery, vehicles, variations in temperature and humidity, as well as dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level is moderate, and employee traffic flow is average.

Starting wage: $24.00 per hour with potential for regular pay raises of up to $0.88 every 6 months.
