- Associates in the Seasonal Staffing Program will be hired to work in unit specific combination of shifts at 1.0 FTE during the months from September 1st through May 31st. The seasonal staffing hours are defined by department management. Deviations from the time frame can only be approved by the Department Manager in consultation with senior leadership.
- Associates in the Seasonal Staffing Program are required to meet the department call requirement per unit expectations and 1 clinical shift per month during the summer months beginning June 1 through August 31st. Associates are also eligible for additional time over planned 3- 4 shifts during summer months
- A registered nurse responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, and providing care to assigned patients
- Utilizes critical thinking to formulate nursing plan based on patient's complex needs and problems.
- Formulates, implements and evaluates nursing plan based on patient complex needs and problems.
- Assists patient and family in discharge planning so that problems and care needs are anticipated and met.
- Serves as an advocate for patient and family in working with other members of the health care team.
- Provides safe and appropriate nursing care through adherence to Nursing Department standards.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN Preferred
- Must have 2-3 years of previous nursing experience
- Pediatric ED and Pediatric preference preferred
- Must be eligible for Delaware State license (or compact license)
- Bilingual Preferred
- American Heart Association BLS Required upon hire

The pediatric Emergency Department (ED) at Nemours/Alfred I.
duPont Hospital for Children is a 44 bed Department, fully equipped to handle any kind of pediatric emergency in patients from birth to age 18.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The seasonal staffing program will begin effective September 1st through May 31st each year. Associates work 1.0 FTE from September 1st through May 31st. and prn from June 1st through August 31st each year.
Associates are required to work 1 clinical shift per month plus 1 floating shift, or as otherwise determined by unit need.
